Please feel able to post problems.
There appears to be a perception that people who post on here with problems are treated with unkindness.
This is not so. The vast majority of people on here support others, whatever their surgery choice.
We do sometimes get people posting on here whose sole purpose is to stir things up (trolls) and so people can be rather wary of extreme posts. But very few of us call people out and accuse them of failing their bands or telling untruths.
I have had very few problems but doesn't mean that I don't appreciate that others do have problesms. And most bandsters on OH are like that.
So. please, ask for support and help! Never be afraid to ask. If someone is nasty to you, just press the block button and read what the other posters say!

Welcome back to the board...it is a shame that you, your sister and your friend all had problems resulting from a poor surgeon...who knows how your band would have worked had it been "installed" properly by someone who knew what they were doing....unfortunately some on the main board, have chosen to use your post as an example of what a bunch of mean biatches we all are, when in fact, we can be really kind and helpful.
The block button comes in handy sometimes when a person just doesn't want to deal with the "mean girls" anymore...

Welcome back. I remember you from the past! Stay with us!
The attack you had made on you on the other thread was unfortunate but in a way, i can understand! We have awful surgery wars (you remember??) and we get posts on here sometimes from people who say extreme things about the band just to stir up problems. You aren't one of them!! But that poster got it wrong and I see she apologised.
Unfortunately people on another board are using that thread to tell people not to come to our board because we are unsupportive! I do wish people would read whole threads before leaping in to condemn!

Kate, I agree 100%, even though I never had any problems (knock on wood), it does not mean that I wont have issues, so I want to hear about the possible problems so if I start feeling something that doesnt feel right, I can reflect back on something that was shared here and say "maybe it is a slip or something" and get it check on. And I believe folks researching really should hear about the problems that folks have. But once a person have had their surgery, it makes my hair stand up when instead of support they get doom predicaments of "it only being a matter of time" before you fail.
Yes that is a big part of it...I mean having someone say well just wait this will happen to you or this is gonna happen...it gets right discouraging ...I have sat and wondered why would you even say those things to a person...then I remember that not only does misery love company, there are those that enjoy making others feel bad or worried in an effort to make themselves feel better....

Even as far out as I am, the trolls make it annoying to come here sometimes. I am usually able to over look them, but it can be bothersome to see their treatment of fellow bandsters. It's a shame really!
But hell, that never stops me from coming back to the biggest support system I've ever known.
THANK YOU BANDSTERS!
