Yes -- I went back to WW about 6 weeks post op.
I attend for the support and accountability.
I had 19 months of consistent weight loss (1 gain in 19 months --- the other weeks were all small, steady losses with a few 'maintains' in there).
I got to my WW goal in December, and got my Lifetime status in Feb.
I continue to attend --- I believe that Maintaining weight loss is more difficult than losing weight --- now is the time I need WW more than ever.

I joined WW in January to help me deal with the weight I gained over the holidays. After 2 successful years with my band I felt I needed something new to focus on as "going back" to the way I lost 100+ lbs in the beginning was'nt working. I was very strict for the first 9 months and was having a hard time regaining that level of discipline.
I've lost 12 of the 14 lbs I gained from where my weight had settled, (210 lowest, 216 comfortable). I like the accountability check and healthy competiveness, (with myself) that WW provides. I also enjoy the meetings and the online tool.
The points system is easy to track, though I still have to do occassional spot checks to make sure I get enough protein. WW doesn't count nutritional values individually but is based on averages. I guess I do a cross of the WW plan and the diet that helped me lose post op.
Bottom line, it's working and I'd like to try to hit my original goal of 195, (still higher than the 174 I would need to hit to have a healthy BMI, but I'd just be thrilled to be below 200! We'll see.
Best~

I haven't had my surgery yet, so please don't get offended by my questions...Can you do WW, only because we can't eat the "full" serving of something, right??? If we can, I will love to do that, because I truly loved doing WW, it just wasnt enough for me....But w/ band and WW, how awesome!! Another thing is, I read some where else that someone who got the band posted something on the WW message boards and got ripped to shreds because that person was taking the "easy" way out w/ the band...if they only knew!!!!!! Anything I can learn about the band, is wonderful for me!! I love this site!!

WW gives you healthy options to incorporate into a Band Diet, but, no, you cannot take in all of the points you are given. I am allowed 31 points and I'm eating around 18 per day. Of those 18 points, I make sure to get in my protein first and fill in the rest with complex carbs (fruits and non-starchy veggies are no points).
To answer the second part of your question, no one at the meeting I attend knows I've been banded. There is a misperception that we have taking the easy way out. I won't blame WW members because, until you've been banded (or had any WLS), you aren't aware of all of the hard work that accompanies the surgeries.
Best of luck on your weight loss journey!
