SLIPPED BAND
Hi there!
I developed a slipped band. Because of it's position, unfilling was not an option - would not fix the slip. my only option was removal of the band on 2/11/11. there ARE some people on this board who have been totally unfilled and were successful with the band going back into place. unfortunately, that was not an option for me.

Sorry you had such a serious band problem! You got your bad just a few mos. before me. I am amazed at the ppl that were banded either right before or right after me that have already had such serious problems and had to have thier bands removed! Longevite and the band don't seem to go hand in hand! :-(
Yes, my band slipped, apparently due to my untreated hiatal hernia (my original surgeon chose not to repair it when he placed my band - we'll never know why, since he lost his medical license and left the area). It was cured with a complete unfill and 6-week rest period.
I know of one OH bandster, Melly, whose band slip had to be surgically corrected, but often a big or complete unfill will take care of it. I think it depends on how bad the slip is and how long it's been going on. So if you're asking this because you're wondering if your band has slipped, call your surgeon ASAP.
