OT This blasted royal wedding!

I live about two miles from Kate Middleton's family (no, I don't know them!!).  And someone has set up coach trips to look round "places where she grew up".

There is absolutely NOTHING to see! It is a rural area, her house is not right up against a road, she didn't go to school there!!

But on the positive, the local pub landlord, the local butcher and the local village shop have all had official invites to the wedding! I think that is great!

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I can imagine your annoyance. But I bet the locals are thrilled to be having the tourists' $$$$ coming in!

Wow, Kate.  I am sure that is annoying, but how great that those people got invites.  I am fascinated by all of the pomp and cir****tance!

Kate,

I've been having flashbacks to Diana's wedding....almost every female in my acquaintance got up at 5 am to watch it on television.

Quite of lot of famous Americans are from my part of Tennessee - Elvis Presley, Alex Hailey, Davy Crockett, and a few more I can't remember, and except for tours at Graceland, no one comes here for a tour of where those people grew up. It's a rural area, with plenty of cows, soybean fields, ditches, and the occasional enclave of trailers (i.e., caravans), so I can imagine that the coach tour of the Middletons' (and your) area would be a real toe-tapper.....zzzzzzz.....

I think you need to set up some sort of concession stand to attract the tourists. Sell the lemonade or something made with the very same water that the future princess drank as a wee girl.

Good for the economy and bad for the privacy of the locals.  Hopefully, it will wear thin soon.  Good luck.  How about a lemonade stand??  lol

Maybe you should sidle up to the pub landlord or butcher and be their date! What a story that would be. Start selling memorabilia on the road as the coaches go by and make a buck (or pound) LOL
I can't even imagine what a pain in the "arse" that must be for you. Hopefully it'll slow down after the wedding.
Mari  Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!
