Depends on what it is, but sometimes, yes. Some people take 1 1/2 cups as their norm.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Sounds totally normal to me!  I eat anywhere from 1/2c  to 1.25c...depending on the density. :)

Hi, yes absolutely....cups is a strange measurement to me but I guess I have at least two cups & I'm losing 1-2lbs a week (every week) I suppose you could lose a bit quicker on less but I think its better for your skin to lose at this rate.

Regards....Jill

I can and do -- sometimes. It depends an awful lot on how dense the food is and how long I take to eat it.

I normally take 20, sometimes 30 minutes to eat a meal.  That's for about 1 cup of mixed items (like meat and veggies) eaten a bite of this and a bite of that -- not just the meat first. If I eat the meat first, then I'm too full for the veggies. Some meals I'll have a salad which is pretty much a slider food for me. I'll eat 1-2 cups of salad and then my 1 cup dinner. This type of a meal might take me 35 -40 minutes to eat.

In the morning when my band is tighter I can eat 1 egg and that's about it. And it takes me a long time to eat it.

If going out for a fun get together type meal that I know will go on for a  couple of hours with lots of talking and laughing, I tend to eat a little bite here and there since the food is first brought out with long pauses between bites.  At this type of a meal I will probably eat 2 cups of food -- about 1/2 of this is solid dense meat like steak. The rest is  salad, veggies, potato, some kind of appetizer and maybe a few pinches off a roll. I might eat this much in one setting every 4 or 5 months.

Hope that helps!

Try to visualize the food chewed up...a cup and a half of salad is probably 1/4 cup chewed...a cup and a half of chicken is still a cup and a half..and too much to eat at one time.  Cereal, and other things with that texture(chips, cookies, crackers etc) are often called sliders, because they turn into a slurry when chewed and slide right through our stoma...not a good choice if we want to stay satisfied between meals.

Hi Renee...just read your post. I just had dinner and am overly full didn't finish all on my plate and should have stopped sooner. I had boiled 2 eggs and made egg salad w/ff mayo, 2 thin slices of tomato, 1/2 of a 1/2 slice of pickle @ 1-1/2 wasa crackers and I am stuffed uncomfortably and I think but that (seems) like nothing, to me....compared to how I used to eat?!? No question asked. I know I need to listen better & stop sooner as I dont want to damage anything in or around my band...my weight loss has slowed but I know I need to make some diff choices in my day...today & yesterday not my best for food...no excuse i'm an addict always will be & need to really learn to deal...not just say it but do it. Not gaining but steady within 30-32 lb loss for a while now. Anyway, not really advice for you but nice to vent with someone on a qty issue! Good luck...
