I"m 19 days post op.  My fav is UNJURY Choc Classis w. skim milk.  20 g of protein in the mix alone.  I went  to Unjury.com and ordered individual packets of different flavors to try before I ordered the large canister.  Unflavored is good to mix into your broths for added protein.  I used Boost, and Ensure in my first few days post op b/c it was a challenge to get it all in plus the fluids, BUT it is SOO important to try and meet your protein/fluid goals for proper healing.  Get up and walk too as often as you can.  You'll be glad you did.

forgot to mention; you can add 1 T of natural no sugar peanut butter to your choc shake, put in the blender and it is soooo good, I'm not kidding.  I call it my Reese cup fix.  I'm not kidding, it's that good plus your adding protein.  just don't use soy milk, it's comes out too "frothy" in the blender.  My 3 week post op is in 2 days. as far as i can tell, i'm down 22.5 lbs.  Wore a pair of jeans yesterday that were unzippable three weeks ago (and they didn't hurt my middle!!!  yay!!!)  and my rings are getting lose.

Oh my... the Reese cup drink sounds like a real treat! I will be trying that! I know that was a great feeling for you to be comfortable in your jeans, I can't wait for my jeans to feel baggy! Thanks again for your help and keep in touch!

First of all, I highly recommend that you buy a Magic Bullet (not the huge Magic Bullet Express for dinners lol).  I use it every day for shakes and it was a lifesaver for the pureed/mushies phase as well.  I think the absolute BEST tasting shakes (to me, of course and I have literally tried them ALL - no, seriously) is "BSN Lean Protein Desserts."  They straight up taste like pudding - nothing compares.  I have all the flavors because I have to keep variety in my shake diet or I'll stray. Currently, the flavors I have are Chocolate Fudge, Whipped Vanilla Cream, Banana Pudding (so amazing), Cinnamon Roll, & Banana Nut Bread. Then I add some sort of sugar free syrup for millions of various concoctions (Da Vinci brand).

For instance, I mix the chocolate fudge flavor it with 3/4c Blue Diamond unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 2T PB2 (peanut butter substitute so no guilt of regular peanut butter), 1tsp unsweetened cocoa and ice.  Or, I'll add peach, strawberry or raspberry syrup to Whipped Vanilla Cream.  Or, pumpkin pie flavor syrup to the Cinnamon Roll flavor (so good in the fall).  Get creative or you will probably tire - this is true for me anyway. :)

Everything I mentioned is available at this place I found, netrition.com.  $4.95 flat shipping price too!

Anytime, that's why I'm here!  Here is another link for you to a site with 100's of WLS-friendly recipes for DELICIOUS stuff.  Also, she has a section on suggestions for the mushies phase.  I swear I owe this woman (Shelly, the website blogger) a huge part of my success.  Her protein desserts (cake, ice cream, muffins - for real) are to die for!!  Good luck to you and thank you for your kind words.

I just had my surgery yesterday, (Monday 3/14) and tried the CVS brand cookies and cream protein powder with skim milk today. It was great, I made it with just my regular little blender and loved it!

You had surgery yesterday...how exciting! How are you feeling? Cookies and cream sounds good, how many grams of protein per serving? What kind of vitamins are you using?
