Ok so I am new to this and it is my first post.  I had my lap-band on the 3rd of March.  I havn't been sick or anything like that and I am wondering if my lack of side-effects means maybe I need a fill?  I seem to tolerate everything which makes me really hungry and it is hard to stay on liquids.  I have eaten soft food no problems and is this normal??? Today I just am very hungry and it is getting harder to not eat real food.

To early for a fill. I had my band done on 1/31 and no fill yet. Try not to rush things and follow your doctors orders.

I am 19 days post op and no fills yet.  My 3 week check is in 2 days.  Your lack of side effects is a GOOD thing.  You should only be eating soft/mushies if your doc has prescribed it for you.  Everyone I know who has been successful w/ WLS says that they followed the rules.  Eating food too early could interfere with your healing process, so let that be a motivator. .  Are you getting in enough protein?  It will keep you from getting hungry.  When I felt hungry, I would drink about two ounces of protein shake and kept the rest in the fridge for later.  My program required drinking 2 oz of protein at the top of each hour, then two oz. of fluids every 15 min thereafter, then another 2 oz. protein at the top of the next hour and so on and so on.   and I charted it, because it is very easy to get off track and think that you are getting enough when in fact you arent. Sure,  I've had a few rough patches here and there, but I'm determined to keep my head positive.  I look at it like this, when I signed on the dotted line for surgery, I knew that I had to make serious committments if it was going to work.    YOU CAN DO IT.
