THE DARK SIDE OF WLS

DOES ANYONE HAVE GAS PROBLEM AFTER HAVING WLS????. BECAUSE SOME TIMES I GET TIRED AND EMBARRASSED OF ALL THE GAS THAT I HAVE  ON ME.
I AM TRYING SOME GAS PILLS LIKE ABENO BUT I DON'T THINK THEY ARE HELPING  THAT MUCH. ANY SUGGESTIONS ?????????????

no I dont have problems with that , but the last month or so Im starting to have problems of being regular so trying to add more fiber into my diet .

I was never a big cereal eater but Kellogs came out with a new cereal that has 10 grams of fiber for a cup of cereal and it suprised me that it actually can keep me full for a good 3 hrs. Not as long as if I would to eat protein but it helps to keep me reg.

But as far as gas no I havent had problems with that . So sorry you are going through that :o(

AM SORRY TO HEARD THAT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MY PROBLEM BECAUSE I DON'T EAT GASSY FOODS OR SODAS BUT WHEN I ASK NY SURGEON ABOUT IT HE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NORMAL.

Yep.. more gas here and more burping.

I just deal with it, but you might try gas-x or beano (if your doc says these are OK for you).

You might also check the amount of sucralose (splenda) you are using.  Sometimes the "fake" sugars can cause intestinal issues.

I'm not a lap-bander,  but I find that Devrom (capsules, not chewables) and gas-ex do  the trick quite nicely.

Best of luck!

Try taking pure peppermint gels; you can get them at any good health food store

I think lots of bandsters have it because when the pouch is empty you get air going through the band in to your tummy. I take Domperidone if its particularly bad. Its better if you don't leave it too long between meals!

I don't have an issue with it, but at our support group meeting last month someone asked about this issue.  They suggest Devrom.  They said it's an over the counter med, but usually not on the shelf.  You just need to ask the pharmacist for it.

Wow. I guess it comes from being 7 years out, but I just take the easiest route: just let 'em rip!
