OT: cholesterol
Does anyone know if your good cholesterol can be too high? I just got my blood work back and mine is on the high range, 95.. My bad cholesterol is in the normal range, is this something I need to talk with the Dr about? (Blood work was ordered by my PCP and I wont see her again for 6 months.)
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!

A year or so ago, my total cholesterol reading was high because my "good" was so high, and my PCP said that was a good thing. But doctors look at more than just the number scores - they look at ratios and stuff (possibly consulting the position of the moon in the sky), so the best thing to do is call your PCP's office and ask to speak to a nurse or the doctor about it. I'm sure they can explain it more accurately than anyone here on OH (although we do have a number of extremely capable nurses on this forum whose opinion I value).

Thanks everyone, I will. I did google it a little while ago, and it looks like you can't have too high of the good cholesterol, thank goodness. I think they need to change the "normal" range to anything above 40, instead of the "normal" range being 40-60 and putting that "H" next to my results. LOL
