Feeling so defeated :(
Same question from me. Are you eating enough to fuel your body and not causing it to go into starvation mode. And watching the carbs and drinking your water? I went thru a phase where I didn't lose anything in lbs on the scale for 9 months but I was losing inches. Because of the increase in exercise your body is reshaping itself and often we are losing fat and replacing that fat with lean muscle and thus the scale does not move whatsoever!
Don't give up on exercise! It is a great habit to be in! Hopefully you can find a happy medium with things!

Hi Sarah,
I haven't gone through what you've gone through but my heart goes out to you. I think it's great that you are exercising, sticking to a healhty eating plan and have joined WW -- that's tremendous and you should be so proud of yourself!
My personal feelings are that most of us obese folks do have at least some metabolism issues -- if you are this active, and eating healthy you may have some -- I'm sure we all know the skinny minnies that scarf down fast food every day and never exercise well, most of us here are the opposite of that. It doesn't seem fair -- we have to work so hard for our loss -- even with the help of surgery!
Just keep hanging in there and don't give up. But, also don't feel pressured to go down to an unhealthy level of calories to try and lose more. At my 18 month check up the exercise specialist said he would always rather see people that are overweight and very physically fit than skinny and un fit. As an expert that's worked with lots of "regular" people and wls patients he has seen his fair share of both and the fit and overweight (obviously not the super morbidly obese level of overweight) seem to have much better health -- esp as they get older.
I've seen your pics and you are simply lovely -- maybe this is your body's settling in weight. I know that if I saw you in person, I would never look at you and think "she needs to lose a few pounds".

Hi Sarah,
I was in the 170's for over 7 months, exercising and getting in good shape. I am bouncing around from 166-169 lately. I joined WW also, at the end of Jan. I don't eat any of my "weekly or activity" points. I don't much fruit but do eat veggies. I exercise about 300-400 minutes a week. I do the 30 day Shred, exercise bike, and walk/jog on the treadmill and if it's nice out, I go for walks. I'm 20 pounds above that "normal" BMI of 24.9. I haven't measured lately, but my jeans are looking looser and people ask if I'm losing again, ( NOT ) I think the new WW plan is great, on how it is focusing on healthy foods and not just low cals. I'm also following the plan from my surgeon as far as how much at one meal.
You are getting healthier and in better physical shape. I know it's hard to see that getting healthier is the ultimate goal and not the number on the scale. I don't know if I will get to a lower weight, but that's okay. All I can do is take it one day at a time and keep trying to get healthier. Sooooooooooooo, I totally get what you are saying. Be proud of your increased exercise. I don't feel like you are getting nowhere with your hard work, I feel like you are on the road to better health. Muscle doesn't weigh more than fat, a pound is a pound, but a pound of muscle takes up less space than a pound of fat. Have you measured? If not do it, and then compare in a few months! Being up 0.2 pounds is like a stick of butter in weight, don't let the number make you feel defeated. Last week I was up 2.2, I lost 2.2 this weigh in. Sorry if I'm rambling......
With no fluid in your band, enjoy those free fruits etc.
Our leader today talked about celebrating other things besides the numbers on the scale. She asked if we had journaled, if we exercised, if we drank water, did we try something new etc etc. Celebrate all the good things you are doing.

I feel your pain. It's so hard to be doing everything right, and not having the scale budge!
Are you also measuring inches, or watching your fat percentages? I was getting so bummed, but then realized that even though the scale hadn't moved more than 1.5 pounds in a month, my bodyfat percentage had dropped by 2%. My trainer did a workup, and estimated that i had actually gained about 4 pounds in muscle, so what i really lost was 5.5 pounds, and my clothes showed it.
Keep it up! Our bodies can be stubborn, but we can beat them at their own game. :D

Hey Sarah! Long time no see! I just wanted to say that you have done an amazing job so far. Try to keep things in perspective, girl! Look at how far you've come! You're exercising, you're busting your freakin' ass, and you're doing everything that you know will benefit you in the long run. Remember that this is a lifetime commitment and that we're not going to reach our goal overnight, over a month, over a year, or even two. It takes persistence and willpower, and you HAVE that! Don't judge yourself by your scale... you've come a long way, baby.
On a side note, I gained FIFTY pounds during my pregnancy and am about to embark on a fantastic journey to re-lose that weight. So don't feel bad... I'm right there with ya, sister.

Thanks, Lisa! I can't believe everything that's happened in the past 2 years, either. Life certainly has had its ups and downs, to be sure! I'm not stressing too much over the weight gain. I did it once, I know I can do it again. I'm eager to get started!
