Long term Bands and unfills

Two months short of 5 years but still joining in.

There has been discussion about this in the past on the grads board. Several people (including me) did ask their docs. The general concensus was that there probably wasn't much point.

My personal view is that I have seen lots of posts from people who had to be unfilled for some reason and then found it very difficult to get back to good restricition - not as simple as being at 3cc, having it out and then putting 3cc back! Doesn't seem to work like that.

I have left mine alone!

Karianne, it is great to see you on here - we don't have many long term vets and so that fuels the nay-sayers who try to convince newbies that they don't exist!! It woudl be great for a lotmof newbies and wannabes if you could post your story!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I am 4 years out and have my band checked and "tweeked" once a year.  I had been having problems since a gain due to lack of exercise (and no adjustment to eating :() after a motorcycle accident last fall.  I just went and had my checkup and had .3cc added and it has done the trick, I have lost over half of my gain in just a short time.  Don't ever forget that the band was put in as an aide to help us and we need to take care of it.  My band was still in perfect position and all was well and I was glad to get the "tweek"
