Lent
. Yesterday should have been an easy day. Fasting with a band, sounds like a breeze. I needed to snack all day. Water and coffee helped but darn. Today I am trying to eat healthy with a limit of Girl scout cookies. Oh why Oh why did I buy those. Tomorrow what is left is going to my food bank. Anyway hope everyone else is gearing up for the lenten season with the thought of forgiveness and giving away our bad habits. I am trying really hard, but in the back of my mind that stupid Easter Basket sits. Hopefully this year he will only leave carrots.
May your Easter basket be filled with toiletries and such instead of candy!! If you have little ones to buy baskets for, remember YOU are in charge of what goes in them!! It seems there is always a holiday filled with food just around the corner or a birthday party or other social gathering to attend. There is always going to be temptation staring at us. All any of us can do is do the best we can. Sometimes our best may be **** poor, as I say, but it's still our best. Most of us have an addiction to food and it's not an easy road. One day at a time, or one moment at a time is all we have. We need to break out of that guilt pattern we all suffer so much from.
Think Spring and flowers not candy rabbits!!!

Hmmmm. I had my own special run in with GS cookies! Evil peanut butter and chocolate AND mint!!!!
You can give them money without buying cookies. Did you know that? The food bank is a good idea though...if you don't eat the cookies on the way to drop them off. Put them in the trunk! It's a trick I use often when in the car.
We can do this Nancy, from one cookie/candy lover to another, we can! Try the "I'll have it tomorrow" trick and see if that works for you. You know, tell yourself, "If I really still want X tomorrow, I'll have it". Then tomorrow, pu**** out another day, etc. etc. The difference between a craving and real hunger are that cravings are food specific, any food will satisfy real hunger. Cravings WILL eventually subside if ignored, real hunger will not.
I'm not perfect, (you know all about my issues with sweets), but these past two weeks have been better and I've lost 4 lbs since I saw you on the 26th.
Hang in there. You can always call me if you want an intervention!
