Hi There... I've been MIA but I'm back!
Some of you might remember me ,but it's been a long time. I had the realize-c band put in on June 12, 2009. I had lost almost 70 lbs with the band but I never hit the sweet spot and got overwhelmed with the whole process. I had (or thought I had, more on that later) the MAX fill for my band at 11CC's and still could eat too much and was way too hungry. So I just played with 18 pounds up & down for the last 6 months because I did not want to go back to surgeons office to be told "this is not working"
Fast forward to a few weeks ago.....I made up my mnd that I needed to get back to the doctor and see what could be done. I made my appointment for the past Monday and found out that I would be meeting my new nurse practioner. My past one had moved to another doctors office. I get to the office this past monday and go over the whole story with the new np. Her first question was have you ever had your fluid level check to make sure you truly are at the 11cc? I said NO!
So she checked and low and behold I only have 8cc not 11!!!! So she put that back in and then added 1 cc more. I knew immediately that it felt different than anytime before. I drink my water and came home on clear liquids then full liquids the next morning. It took me half a day to get down 4 ounces of protein shake and then at lunch I tried tomatoe soup.....I was stuck....up it came! Tried warm coffee later gurgle, gurgle So I called Dr. Office & left message for NP, I get a call right back "What time can you come in tomorrow?" Long story longer, I'm leaving in a little while to have some taken out.
I always love coming here and I stopped when I got overwhelmed with what I thought was going to be yet another failed attempt to get this weight off! So I'm sorry to say that I jumped ship on you wonderful people but I'm happy to say I'm back!

I remember you and so glad you are back! There are a bunch of us vets that are still here, kinda paying it forward.I can't imagine not coming here daily even tho I lost only 40ish lbs. with my band, but it does seem to keep me from gaining so it still helps. Sounds like you are getting a new start so grab it and run. You seem to have a good NP now so work closely with them and I'll bet you start dropping lbs. like crazy. Good luck!

I remember you..welcome back
Lapband - Jan 2009 weight goal reached with lapband. Revised to VSG- 1/25/16
WoW!!! Thanks for the warm welcome back! I did get an unfill yesterday, .75 cc came out. My NP said I was very, very dehydrated and made me get down a full bottle of water before I could leave. Glad I called and got there when I did. I would have hated to have to be put into the hospital to rehydrate. I'm scheduled to go back in for a small fill in about a month if needed.
I'm on full liquids today and then mushy. Funny how we take drinking for granted!
So today I'm happy. Happy to be able to swallow and happy to be back among friends!
After I weigh in on monday I will try to update my ticker to the right weight loss!
