Hi Friends.. former banded visiting :)

I had my revision on 1-11-11.... I love the life and eating with the RNY. The band as it turns out was part of the physical problem I had with eating. I had some inflammtion around the band, that would make it tighter. So, it wasnt all me, and it wasn't all band. But eating now is going well. I'm in my 9th week post op for the RNY, and in my 3rd week of another surgery... a bowel resection, from adhesions from my csections. Not related to either surgery.

That said.... I think I found the right surgery for me this time. I'm down 50 pounds in two months (almost). I'm 4 pounds away from officially being down 50 pounds since my actual sugery date. I had felt great until they thought my appendix was bad, and found my bowel to have been ulcerated and leaking. That's gone now too (that portion). But it took me back to the early stages of letting my body heal... no exercise. But I'll be good and take it easy.

I miss the friends I had here. I hope you are all well. I even miss touching my tummy and feeling my port. But I don't miss the weight I'd gained with the band.

Oh and it's official, I'm cured of diabetes, high blood pressure (which I developed with the band) and sleep apnea (which I also developed with the band). I'm healthier than I've been in years.... and at a lower weight than I ever got to with the band.... by 6 pounds.

Teri

Thats awesome, Im a happy to hear that you have found something that is working for you and not against you, and that is has helped with those heath issues (sleep apnea, diabetes & high BP).  Im so sorry to hear about the bowel problems, but happy it was discovered and repaired.  I wish you success with your weight loss and I look forward to your posts.

Wow that's awesome! All those medical conditions cured within 2 months with RNY! Too bad the band doesn't work that way! :-(

Congrats!!!

The band works that way for some just as the RNY didn't cure my cousins diabetes so be careful generalizing
