Considering the band? Think twice!

Count me in as part of the 24% with a band slip.    I got it fixed, but I can tell you, losing with the band is NOT easy....it's so dang fickle.  I am thankful that I have SOMETHING, but if I had to do it over again, I would go for the sleeve or RNY.

U know Melly I hear that all the time from bandsters! It's sad. I very seldom hear it from other WLS'ers though.

I just wish we knew then what we know now so we wouldn't have to be going through this. But since that's not possible, I do try to make sure that those that are pre-op do know so that they can make an INFORMED decision! I just don't understand why so many of the other bandsters object so strongly to others having this info??? :-(

Thank you for posting this, it is good that we have as much info as we can so we can make the most informed decision about our WLS.  I am not going to sit here and argue with the facts in the report because honestly I do not feel like wasting my time bickering back and forth about WLS with you.  You guys take what people say and twist it into something far from the point we were trying to make.  I for one am not upset that you posted this, I appreciate it because I want to know what I am getting myself into.  I am upset that you felt the need to go thru each post and make a negative comment about each one.  If you were truly trying to spread wisdom you would have posted it and then left it at that.  Let people take that information in and use it to make an informed decision, dont sit by your computer waiting for comments to attack.   When someone says you are spreading negativity we dont mean negative facts we mean in the way you speak.  Your comments come off as negative comments made to personally attack the person you are addressing, maybe you would be taken more seriously if you didnt attack each comment on a personal level. 

Now Im sure you are going to disect this post as you have every post I make, and tell me that I do not know what I am talking about.  You enjoy trying to make people look bad and then putting them down.  If that floats your boat then go ahead.  I could care less and do not plan to read your response anyways.  Have fun......let the disectinnnnnnnnnng........begin!

I have responded back negatively to those that have responded negatively to me. I feel I have a right to defend myself U don't??? To those that didn't respond negatively to me I just did a courtesy reply. So sorry u seem to object to that!

As a new member on this board, it sure does seem like some people have a lot of time on their hands. While I appreciate the information- OP, you are coming off extremely childish in your remarks and make every word from the original post seem much less credible. I understand that you may have had a negative experience with the band, but wouldn't the adult thing be to inform and allow others to make their own decisions? We are all here for one purpose- to lose weight, be healthy, and share those experiences (good and bad) with each other. I'm schedueled for surgery next Tuesday and I'm proud of the decision I've made to move forward with the band. I hope the remainder of my experiences on the board aren't like this, or I may have to find a new place to post.

U dont want to beleive CR.........read the ASMBS article then.............or better yet.............read on the REVISION FORUM, LOL!

If you find the place to post that doesn't include people bickering over each other's decisions and questioning each other's motives when they share information let me know! I've been to several weight loss surgery message boards and they're all the same.
