Baby Food?

My nut recommended trying Baby Food meats for the mushie stage, which I'm now in.  Has anyone tried them?  What brand?  The idea sounds gross to me!  And I wonder if I will still need the Colace?  Cause you know what happens when babies eat baby food - goes right through!

No chance --- I bought 1 jar and looked at it/smelled it and thought, I would rather be hungry.

When I was on the mushie stage, I ate

well-forked tuna mixed with light mayo
well-forked egg salad made with light mayo
Baked Ricotta (Ricotta cheese, parmesean cheese, egg, italian seasonings, topped with marinara and mozzerella, baked to a cheesy goodness)

I could only eat about 1/4 cup at a time --- every 3 or 4 hours

I had greek yogurt for breakfast, then one of those 3 meals for lunch, 1/2 protein shake in the afternoon, 1/4 cup of one of these meals for dinner and 1/2 protein shake at night.

Kath - that ricotta gooey-ness sounds wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My mushies included much of the same but i did my egg/tuna/chicken salad in the food processor.  Also ate low fat refried beans.

As far as babyfood  - i still do stage 2 sweet potatoes with a dash of cinnamon.  Sw Potatoes are soooo incredibly good for you and regardless if i bake or boil they are just too dry for me to eat and I end up puking (of course if i drench them in butter and syrup they are fine!). So if i eat the pureed babyfood with the cinnamon its actually very yummy - however, i dont eat in front of anyone! lol

I tried an apricot and apple puree one. Not too bad but very, very bland! But I never bothered with pureeing meat, just used high protein beans blended into soups.

My doc did not want us to use baby food at all. He said there was something in it that he didnt like cant remember what though .

I wouldnt eat it anyways I would much rather live on refried beans, soup and mashed tators then eat that yuck stuff lol.

LOL - thanks!  It didn't sound very appetizing at all!  I'll try the refriend beans w/melted cheese - although I've never had them.  I did check out Eggface's website so I have a few other ideas as well.

I really don't know what I would do without your input and support.  Thanks!

Bleck. Having fed baby food to babies, I can't believe THEY eat it. Looks bad, smells worse. I've served PET FOOD that looks and smells better. Making your own purees and mushies is so easy, and you can make food that actually tastes like food.
