Hi All..

I work 2PM to 10 PM and my typical day goes:

Breakfast- 7:00 AM -  I just normally have coffee before I head to the Gym
Lunch -    11:30 AM-   I have some protein or a cup of oatmeal.
Snack-      3:00 PM-   I have a protein drink or a cheese stick
Dinner:      6:15-6:30 PM-  Protein - Some type of meat /soup just depends....
Snack:      10:30 PM-  When I get home I normally have some Turkey deli slices...

Then I am in bed at 12 Midnight and back up at 6:00 AM....

I think my weight loss can be better if I can move my late snack to abou 8:00 PM and not eat so late at night..

What do you think?

Your time line is just about like mine

I have breakfast around 10 am lunch around 2pm and dinner around 6-8 pm and my snack around 10 pm

How many carbs are you having a day ?  I try to keep mine around 30-50 most days and calories around 800 on days I dont exercise and 1200 on days I do exercise .

But I personally dont see nothing wrong with your time line like I said its just about like mine :o)

I dont eat all them snacks though I Just eat one snack at night if Im hungry and its usually some cheese or if I was good all day and have some carbs to play with I have some totilla chips and salsa for a snack .

I think you should eat your oatmeal before going to the gym.  It's most beneficial to eat complex carbs before working out and protein after working out.  You'll be able to go harder and longer.

Eating before bedtime is not the horror we once thought it was.  When your body is used to exercise and moving it will store food as energy for longer periods before storing it as fat energy.

"they" say now it really doesn't matter what time of day you eat.  If you eat right before bed, your metabolism will remain high for a while - but that also means you might have trouble falling asleep and  reflux - if that doesn't bother you - I would suggest a lean protein to ward off your muscle being burned in your sleep (e.g. vanilla greek yogurt or sugar free pudding or string cheese)  For sure AVOID  CARBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Carbs that are NOT burned for energy within a couple of hours WILL store as FAT (as will Alcohol!)

My answer to the question
I eat every 3 hours - sometimes 5x sometimes 6.  I also have a protein, whole grain carb and fhealthy at in every meal or snack.  Also I ***try*** to eat clean 90% of the time - note the word ***TRY***

Hello

I never was a snacker.  When I had diets where I was supposed to snack I found it annoying.  I just eat my three meal a day.  I do eat my biggest meal at night around 7pm..but I never found that to be a problem with my weight loss.  When I have plateaus I tend to change up my exercise...I will do my cardio longer and up the intensity.  This seems to work for me (but works for me might not work for others).  I don't mess around with my meals when I think I'm stalling,  because I feel that I get enough protein, calories and I keep my carbs low...so I don't think I need to change anything there.  I don't stall very often anymore...knock on wood (I don't want to jinx myself...hahaha

I eat 5 or 6 times a day. Depends on where I am and what I am doing. I don't have a fixed routine.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I try not to have snacks unless I'm working out and have to have something for fuel/muscle recovery. I eat breakfast around 9:30am after I've had a few cups of hot tea since my band is tight in the am. I eat lunch anywhere from 12:30pm - 2:00pm. And I don't get home from wor****il 6pm so I try to eat between 6:30-7:30 and I'm done for the night.

I agree that if you are going to the gym in the am, you need to have some type of carb prior so you have that storage as fuel. Even if it is a protein shake!

I was just told with my last fill that I should be eating(drinking) at least 5X a day.  I was told a minimum of 60 grams of protein.  Also important for me to not eat for 3 hrs before I go to bed.  That is hard for me because I am an early riser and have always been told if we don't get at least 7 hrs of sleep a night it is harder for our bodies to get rid of the weight.
