Pain Question

Oh wow that sounds rough.  I am still preop so I can't offer any advice but she will be in my thoughts and prayers that that never happens again.  If her port is near the incision and he gave her a shot about an inch away it doesn't sound like he knows what he is doing.  Maybe I am mistaken about the size of a port but could he have missed it?  I have never seen one except on websites so I do not know.  I had to give my mother shots in her stomach and one time I put the meds in too fast and she said that it felt like she was being burned there.  Maybe this is similar to what she felt, meds going into her abdomen rather than her port? 

 My 2 fills did not hurt at all....just a little pinch, some pressure....but no PAIN....

I would have her ask the surgeon why would a fill hurt?
Does not make sense to me....

Thank you all for your responses. She said the port is under her incision but he stuck her about a inch from the incision. She said that he doesn't numb her at all. She is going to wait a while, probably go back at 6 weeks. She said thank you all for your responses. She isn't afraid of the needle but it really hurt.
