Too tight after a fill
I've been banded since 5/2010 and went in for my 3rd fill on Friday. I was fine drinking water right afterwards but starting last night I can't even keep more than tiny sips of water down no matter whether I heat it u*****t. I only got a .5 cc fill but since this is the second time they have done this much, I guess my body just can't handle it.
Obviously the doctor's office is closed this weekend so I'm not sure if I should just wait it out to Monday morning or go ahead and go to the ER (I just feel so silly doing that when I really feel fine!) I'm afraid if I go to the ER, they will have NO idea what the heck to do for me!
Any advice would great appreciated!
Thanks

I had a fill that was to much, so much that I was up all night unable to swallow my saliva. So first thing in the morning I drove the 3 hour drive for unfill. If you can keep hydrated by sipping then wait, I would hate for you to get someone in the er that might mess up on your unfill. That is just what I would do, not saying it's the right thing.
sooo glad u got an unfill. being too tight sux!!!! I just got an unfill after only .5 cc too. Do you do liquids for 24 hrs followed by 24 of mush then solid food?

That can happen sometimes even though it has never happened to me yet. As long as you can get and keep liquids down I'd wait it out. One of my biggest fears is allowing someone other than my surgeon go anywhere near my port. I'd just be so mad if I got a leak from a needle puncture! Hope this resolves itself before Monday. Good luck, Lori

If you can drink tiny sips -- do it and just keep after it.
I would NEVER go to the ER without first trying to call my doctor.
Yours should have an answering service -- who can contact your doctor or whoever is on call.
At least see if they will talk to the ER on your behalf -- my surgeon met me at his office at 6:30 pm on Saturday/'New Year's Day to fix a problem I had
My surgeon has always told me to call him FIRST -- if he cannot see me, or if I am out of town and have an emergency, he wants to walk the ER staff through what they need to do to help me.
If you can swallow your own saliva -- and take little sips, I would just work to stay hydrated and call first thing on Monday to have just a drop taken out.
Good luck!
