8 days post op and need ideas.
I had the same kinds of things that others are suggesting except that my band doesn't like applesauce, or even apples at this stage. I recently had my band emptied and even emptied its not crazy about apples. I expect its the acid in them idk. :) Hope things are going well for you...walk walk walk...the party is JUST starting for you :) and its going to be an AMAZING run!!! :) Congrats :)

I had salmon salad without veg, tuna same, egg, and shepherd's pie with the meat pureed and it went down fine. By 10 days I could eat a crab cake, too, hummus with melba toast (which was on my plan and scared me but went down fine - just remember to chew to mush) Oh yeah, yoghurt, too. This was my first week back at work and with a little planning I did really well. Good luck!
The Mushy stage is the stage you can eat a ltitle more foods but if it requires alot of chewing then its a no . You still dont want to work your stomach to much because the band is still healing around your stomach so the less food you eat that you have to chew the better it is for the healing of your band :o)
I did not eat anything required alot of chewing during this stage because I was to scared to . I stuck with mashed potatoes, refried beans with cheese melted on top with sour cream , the heavier soups cream of brocolli ,, yogurt, sf pudding. I was not allowed any kind of meats at this stage either .
I did not worry about carbs at that point because it was more important to heal then worry about weight loss .

I was not allowed anything that required chewing as such. Cottage cheese, fat free refried beans with melted cheese, slightly thicker soups, hummus, I was allowed thin tuna or chicken salad but got stuck big time on it. I did a tofu, sauce, and cheese lasagna thingy. It wasn't the best I've ever had but when you are desperate anything works. Just do not eat anything solid! Follow your surgeons rules to a tee!
Good luck, you will be plenty tired so expect to need to rest a bit extra.

I like the fat free yogurts. I also like tuna salad with fat free mayonaise. I also like ripe bananas to kill my sweet tooth. I tried to sway away from too many shakes and liquids. You loose weight fast on the liquids, but you gain it back once you implement solids. I also like scrambled eggs with grits. I never drink caloric liquids, always skim milk, water or crystal lite. I would rather eat my calories than drink them.
