I think there's allot more men on here but they're hiding in the dark lurking and afraid to come out.. Come on guys we know your here, heck I'm here Big Bad " not really bad, sounds good though" and Tattooed so I know there's more guys out here. How are you doing since you got your band ? Are you happy with your progress. If there's one thing you would tell someone what to look out for with the band what would it be? I will keep you posted on my surgery and progress
Thanks John
I hope you reconsider and make a more effective WLS choice before it's too late. :-(
Even the ASMBS said at their last conference how ineffectibe the band is!

I would also highly suggest you visit the revision forum and see just how many bandsters are revising FROM the band! If the band was that great then there wouldn't be all those ppl wanting to get rid of it and put theirselves through yet another WLS now would we???
Good luck!
Dear Maria,
Thank you for your concern and the link to the article. Although it was interesting I believe it's the person who makes the band work or not. Yes some people just have problems and can't make it work for them, but from my experience and looking into all the alternatives for the past 6 years, I truly think that if you except that the band is only a tool to help you, not a quick fix pill, and you do your part to eat, sleep and exercise properly and make a LIFE CHANGE not a year to year commitment you can reach your goal and keep it. I was due to have a complete bypass done, but upon further study and learning more about food and the fact that I lost more that 70 pounds in the past 4/5 months without any surgery or illness. Just the will to want to live a better life and enjoy it while the Lord allows me to be here was enough incentive. I am getting the band to use as a tool to help me in my journey, I do not believe changing my plumbing would be to my best interest. I plan on living into my 80s and believe the band and arming myself with all the information about the food we eat is right for me. I hope that whatever direction you take with your WLS will help you in your journey to reach your goal.
God Bless
John
