Alot of you already know JeanM and her Bandwagon book and newsletter!!  I am such a person of struggle that the book is like a bible for me and the newsletters an extra gift.

But I am not sure if you know about another Bandster named Tom and his website:  www.beariatric.com
This website also offers alot of thought and  positive insight for Bandsters and wls people.   I hope you take the time to learn more from Tom!

A special Thank you to Jean and Tom as your work helps me daily!

Recently Tom wrote an excellent article for the Bandwagon on the Road newsletter. He's a great inspiration not just for bandsters but for anyone trying to live a healthy life and particularly, a life that incorporates frequent exercise.

For those of you who haven't "met" Tom, his OH user name is ohbearly...he does pop in here from time to time, when he takes enough time to get his butt off his bicycle!

Oh my! I don't know what to say. I often think I write and no one reads it. It's great therapy for me. I've been doing a lot of work on looking at myself critically over this past year. I think of if as a progression in my life. I am in a new place and I am trying take the most advantage of it.

Just this past week I decided to take on the biggest challenge I have undertaken. I am cycling from Pittsburgh to Washington D.C. with a WLS buddy and fellow cyclist. We are doing this on the Great Allegheny Passage and C&O Trail as an unsupported ride. That means we will camp along the way. This is so so far out of my comfort zone - 340 miles and camping. I see it as a real journey for me and part of my self discovery.

Thanks again for your kind words. I find the WLS community to be so supportive.

Tom
