Adding protein to coffee or . . .
Everyone seems to be trying to add protein to coffee, with mixed results (usually lumps.) I have no suggestions to help with HOT beverages, but I've been using Stok cups to add caffeine to protein shakes and yogurt instead. They're the size of creamer cups, shelf-stable. I pour one into a premade shake, add a straw and I'm off - and awake - to the gym.
I used to see them in stores but lately had to buy them from Amazon, but they are like rocket fuel. Keep in mind that they ARE coffee flavored, since they are made from coffee, so they might not go with all flavors of foods, but I've found they're a great way to have my protein AND caffeine at the same time. And no, I don't have any "interest" in the company: no freebies, no kickbacks. I just like to (pardon the pun) get stoked.

Bette, I hope this is not the case but I did hear, when someone asked about him a year or so back, that his good weight loss had stopped and that was part of the reason he had stopped posting. ( I think OH just warned him about his posts, I don't think he was actually banned - even though he did return under a different name! )
Hope the report was not true. He made himself very unpleasant but I know his weight loss had literally, I believe, saved his life and i would not wish anyone to have that reversed. And his intentions were good!

I like your idea as I had horrible results adding protein to my coffee. I have had better luck adding some cold, strong, coffee to my shakes. I only do it when I have a fresh fill, or in my case, an unfill, or if my tummy is not liking solids. It beats the non caffiene dumps. As you say it is great for a quick pick me up before exercise. Not that I do any right now. My pain is my ***** for the month.
I have protein as a hot drink every morning. The trick is to mix it with just enough room temp or cold water to dissolve the protein first and then add in the hot liquid gradually while stirring. Just like when you temper eggs so they don't scramble when added in recipe's.
I detest coffee but my morning drink is the same approach.
I take about 1-2 ounces of filtered tap water with 1.5 scoops of Champion Pure Whey Chocolate. I add a splash of Brown Sugar and Cinnamon flavored syrup and then mix this up until it is a dissolved state, then I drizzle in ho****er from the tea kettle while whisking. SOOO YUMMY. Spiced hot chocolate.
Same method should work for coffee.

I've found a great protein that I've been putting into my coffee or hot chocolate. It's called Pure and it's from Bariatric Eating. It dissolves pretty well especially if you dissolve it in a tiny bit of cold water first. It's not gritty and it really has no taste. A lot of the other unflavored proteins that I tried had almost a cheese like taste to them. I haven't run into that with Pure. I've been throwing it in everything - coffee, hot chocolate, oatmeal, soup. I couldn't do it with the others that I tried.
