Buzz Kill

I am in Ontario, CA on business -- and stopped at Black Angus for a quick lunch before I head home.

The menu here has a calorie count on every single item -- and it is horrifying -- LOL

I have seen menus that mark 'healthy choices' --- and even seen calorie counts on the 'lighter fare items' -- but to see that the 3-cheese garlic bread is 1400 calories just puts a damper on the whole restaurant experience.

I ordered the cheese bread -- ate the cheese off of 2 pieces and then made the server take it away ---- small bowl of steak soup and I am out of here!

Is this now the law in parts of California???

I wish they would post nutritional info on all the menus.  My WW leader this week said in Las Vegas, they had all the info posted and it was pretty scary!  I hardly go out to eat, but it would be nice to know when looking at a menu, what the cals etc is.

Hi! I live about 15 minutes from where you are now. Yes all the menus in all restaurants and fast food places must now post calorie counts. It is a new law since January. I like that they do this, it makes you think twice when ordering. But it sure is an eye opener!

Wow! It is the LAW? that is crazy. I wish they would do that in AZ... would make dining out so much easier. 

 
Aren't they working on that in AZ?  I thought there was a law, or was going to be a law about chain restaurants.  Places like Mickey D and Boogar King would have to put calorie counts on the drive through menu boards.

I was hoping that would become reality someday.

All of CA food places are supposed to list the calories.    I do know what you mean about actually seeing that most is 1000 calories and what a drag!

I can understand that food chains with mass-produced foods can post calories etc but surely small restaurants can't do it? Take all the art out of cooking high quality, individual meals!

I understand they ave started that in a few areas. I wi**** was nationwide. It would be nice to have that info available on all menu's!

Most chain restaurants in the rest of the country have the information available if you ask them for it.  It is convienient (and a buzz kill) though to have it right there on the menu.  How is the weather out there?  I'm headed that way in about two weeks to finally get my surgery...YAY!
