I went in for my 2 week check this morning. Everything looked great and I'm happy to say I'm down 16lbs!

I still have another 2 weeks of a high protein liquid diet. Not much fun but I did great the 1st 2 weeks :0)

I go back March 30th for my 1st fill.

Give yourself a huge pat on the back for surviving so far! The liquid portion is really tough but my surgeon has assured me that at least in their practice no one has ever actually died from it. I only thought I would!

Congrats on the weight loss. Keep up the good work.

Congrats!

So I'm curious, you said  you have 2 more weeks of liquids and then a fill on the 30th.  Will you get progressed up to "regular" solid food before the fill?

Thank you!

The 31st of March would be my 6 weeks which is when I could start on solid foods, but since I go in on the 30th of March for my 1st fill and have to be on liquids for 24 hours after the fill I won't be able to start on solid foods until late afternoon on the 31st or the morning of the 1st of April. I do however start mushy/soft foods on the 17th of this month.

Hope that made sense.

I think it if it was me you might want to hold off getting that fill till you start your solids and see exactly where you stand on how long you can go without getting hungry.

As long as you can go 3hrs or more without getting hungry then you dont want to get a fill.

Going from liquids to solids is a very big c hange you might see a huge difference from being hungry to not being hungry .

I was that way also till I got on solids then everything changed in my hunger patterns .

Just becareful you dont want to rush into fills if you dont need them :o)  congrats on doing so well so far that is great !!!

You don't have to have a fill at the point.  I went until I was 3 months out, I didn't have that much hunger when I got onto solids.  Everyone is different, but I would want to wait several weeks after being on solids to see how you feel.

Thank you steelerfan1 and tetrarose!

I know many people here in my area including 2 family members that have had the band (we all have the same Dr). A few of them went in for their 1st fill and didn't end up getting one as well. All of them are very successful and doing great. They range from 11 years to 2 years out now.

I will take your comments into consideration though! I really appreciate you both giving me feedback. This is why I joined the group last year, to get advice, hear comments etc.

Have a GREAT day!
