Just wondering how soon after surgery did you get your first fill? I am having ankle surgery next week and think I will get my first fill after I recover from that.

I am three months post op and I have skipped all my fills I just had a doc appt yesterday and skipped that one also :o)  My band is empty

I was at support group meeting last night and this guy had his first fill after TWO yrs !!!! He went two solid yrs without a fill he got his first fill yesterday due to gaining five pounds . He had lost 225 pounds  he was such a inspiration last night hearing him talk and it got me remotivated all over again :o)

Plus my doc if you lose 6 pounds or more a month and stay full for three hrs at time he will not give you fills so even if I asked for one he would refuse he is very strict with fills and I like that about it . He dont just give you  a fill if you ask for it.

Came out of surgery with approx. 3cc's already in band.  Got my first fill at about 6 weeks.. might have been 7.

The first year I got fills an average of every 6 weeks (some 4 weeks, some 8 weeks.. avg: 6).

Every doctor and every banded person is different in the amount and number of fills needed.  It's ok to compare numbers, just don't think you should have the same.  :)  That's one of the things I love about the band is that it is so individualized.

I got my first fill around 6  weeks.  It was actually too soon for me and had to have it unfilled.  Then I went another 2 months before we tried again.  I go in when I feel I need to- it's all very individualized and I'm probably more sensitive than most.

I rec'd my first fill today - it is 6 weeks to the day.  He thought I was doing good.  But I told him I do eat more then I should.  So he only gave me 1.5 cc's in a 10cc band.  I go back in 4 weeks.  Since I started the pre-op diet I'm down 30 lbs.

I had surgery in April of 2010 and have never had a fill.
Have yet to feel hungry, so the doc says that no fills are needed yet  ;)
