Has Liquid Tylenol been discontinued???

I've used (adult) liquid Tylenol since being banded. Not only is it easier to get down than cut-up tablets, it seems to work faster. Recently, I haven't been able to find it anywhere - not at Wal-Mart or Walgreens, and nowhere online except for one ridiculously expensive ($23) bottle at amazon. Does anyone know what's going on? Are you still able to find liquid Tylenol in your area? Any suggestions?

Hi Jean,

If you are looking for the Tylenol Adult Liquid extra strength product, you won't be able to find it for a while. It is part of a recall and there is not yet an announced re-release date--so that means you definetly won't see it on shelfs again until at least August, if not later. You may want to try searching for a another brand with a liquid pain relief in the mean time, including the private label brands at stores. I know Supervalu will have an equaline brand equavalent of this item on shelfs by April. Target's Up and Up brand may already have some out..

Anyway, bottome line: if you find this item in stores/online-- stay away. it was supposed to be pulled off shelves! :)

Hi Judy,

I don't have a link for this info that I could share. I just have some email's from work that I would be reluctant to post online. I work in product development for a private label division of a large retailer and it appears that on 1/21/11 we received a memo that our stores needed to pull it from the shelves as part of a vol. recall and on 2/2/11 we received word that we needed to start on making an equivalent to the product as it was being recalled and no re-release date available (which always means it will be a minimum of 6 months before it will be back on the market) and our company wanted us to get in on the missed sales opportunity. I'd assume McNeil industries would have something on their website, but I hadn't looked personally. I just thought I'd share what info I did know on this topic.

Its been really hard to find Tylenol products since the recall. I too love the liquid Tylenol as well as the Tylenol for kids that dissolve on the tongue (easier getting it through airport security). Rite Aid has a generic version of the dissolving children Tylenol. If you get the one aimed at older kids the max dosage works great and bubble gum tastes much better than grape. 8-)
