Hi! Did your doc give you a diet to follow? I had surgery on Wednesday as well, and I'm supposed to get in 64 oz a day - yeah, right! It's really hard, but I keep sipping, sipping, sipping. I was told to build up to the 64 oz. That includes water, the protein shakes, broth. I was given an entire packet of what to eat, in 2 week increments.
Are you walking? That will take care of some of the boredom! It's normal to have a little drainage from your incisions, as long as its not alot or very bloody. I have been showering every day, being careful around the incisions. My incisions are starting to itch, too - but that is a sign that they are healing. My doc told me I could put a bandaid over the incisions if the drainage was bugging me.
Don't worry about the gas - my dog looks at me funny, but it just makes me laugh. The gas is normal, and really, don't you feel better after? LOL
If you walk to get rid of some of the boredom, you will be tired after and can take a nap. We need to rest to get better, too. Good luck and take care!

I remember the doctor telling me to keep sipping fluids throughout the day.
Also, I enjoyed sugar free ice pops and s/f jello, another way to get "liquids' in you.
Ask your doctor if you have any questions. My nutritionist helped me a lot and I just tried to follow the
guidelines to the best of my ability!

Everybody is so different when it comes to their surgery. I was one of the very lucky ones the surgery did not have any effect on me at all .
My doc does not put any fluid in the band when he puts it in so I was empty when I came out of the surgery room so about 2 days later I was back up to drinking a good 4 -6 oz at a time and by 10 days I was up to drinking 6-10 oz at a time so I had no problems getting my water in from day one.
I was told to drink as much as I could handle as long as I was not throwing it back up and that is what I did I would add a ounze to it every couple of hrs .
Now the protein shakes was a different story I had heck of a problem getting them suckers down lol. It wasnt cause they was awful but I was just so full from water I couldnt get my shakes in so I had to cut my water back just to get my protein shakes in for the day .
I was allowd to take a shower 24 hrs after surgery but I was not allowed to soak in a bathtub for 2 weeks that was hard for me cause I love my baths.
Just dont rub the incisions with anything and use antibactrial soap :o)
