I have my surgery date 4/4/11..I have eliminated sodas from my diet since my visit w/the nurtrionist.  So its been several weeks, I have been eating a low carb diet, most of the time..Now I am ready to maintain 40 grams of carbs per day..I love chobani greek yogurt, this is my first week w/o it.  As much as I love the yogurt, it is high in carbs.  So for next few weeks I will try to cook breakfast each morning. I purchased Atkins shakes I will use for snakes, if anyone has any ideas for a menue plan, that would be most helpful.

I'm keeping a journal and writing down what I eat and the carb count...

I would appreciate any help for pre-op.  : )

Hi there.   I will be meeting with my nutritionist in a few weeks and will begin this as well.  I've been trying to gradually make myself give up certain things so I would be so shocked with out them, but it's so hard.  I have found that Carnation Sugar Free breakfast packets that you mix with fat free milk are wonderful.  They are much better tasting than some of the other nutrition drinks I've had, and they keep my appetite under control from 6:30 am till almost 11am.  Good luck with your shakes.

If you have a Kroger near you, they have an awesome low carb yogurt that's pretty decent on the amount of protein.  It's their store brand and it's called CarbMaster.  They have several flavors to choose from and they usually have about 10-12 grams of protein and only 3-4 carbs.  I know the greek yogurt is higher in protein, but it also has a LOT more carbs.  Anyway, just my 2 cents.  Good luck!
