Check out fitbit.com. I bought one. It is much cheaper and smaller than bodybug and the web sight monitoring is free. The body bug is around $250 and the monthly monitoring is around I think $12. The fitbit is $99. It is great and keeps me accountable.

I got the GoWearFit (same thing) for my Birthday 2 years ago.
It was ok -- but it does not have a Heart Rate Monitor component and the wrist unit was big and ugly.
I gave mine away to an OH member --- and I use my Polar Heart Rate Monitor (about 80 dollars) and my Omron Pedometer to track my activity.

I'm with Kath..
I have a Polar HRM FT-7 and I (when I can find it.. I"m bad about misplacing pedometers) sometimes use an Omron Pedometer.
I want to eventually get a Polar HRM with the fit-test ability as I'm not sure mine is really tracking me accurately, cause my Resting Heart Rate is so low ( low 50's) for my age.
And the Omron Ped. I use will work clipped to your waist or in your pocket or in your purse... that's why I lose them.. ROFL.
Consumer Reports did a very basic evaluation of Heart Rate Monitors recently. Some are better than others (of course). :)

I just ordered the fitbit a few days ago. The "bodybug" too expensive and from what I read about the fitbit, seems it does pretty much the same as the bodybug.

Costco has one for $150 that includes a year subscription. I was looking in to it but figured it would be useless after a few weeks. IMO after a few weeks I'd already have a sense of the amount of calories I'm burning on days I'm active or less than active.
You can also calculate your BMR online to find out (roughly) how many calories you burn.
