I can't believe it!!!!!!
Airhead!!! Believe me when I tell you - one year from now you will be walking MILES every day and marvelling at how far you have come in such a short time.
I have a neighbour that I often walk with (she's 70-something and a normal weight and when we started she was in 10 times better shape than I was!). I remember one of the first walks we took - I had to ask her if we could stop at the end of our road (maybe a quarter of a mile) so I could rest on a log on the beach. Well, we were out walking just last week on the same beach and laughing about that incident as we continued our fast-paced, 4-mile expedition (it was my second walk of the day). Oh, and now - she complains that I walk too fast and tire her out too much!
Here's something I do to make my walks and hikes really enjoyable - I used to listen to music on my iPod (it would help me set a pace and increase my stride over time), but these days I download talk radio programs from my favourite stations and listen to those instead - honestly, I don't know where the time goes and I learn stuff in the process!
You keep walkin girlfriend - you will gain strength and determination with every step. You are AWESOME!!!!
