Thanks Margaret.  They fit me in right away so I was unable to see my doctor but had all the testing to confirm the slip.  I did jump that is for sure just nerves.  I'm making an appointment with my doctor and looks like the insurance will cover it.  It needs to be done like others have said now or when things get really bad.  I hope this doesn't keep people from the band I love mine and want to keep it forever.  Thanks again :-)

My Insurance did pay for removal . In Dec. was in pain could not keep anything down. I went to Dr. office he sent me to hospital for test confirmed it was slipped and with in 1 hour I was in surgery.  Insurance I have now was not the insurance that paid for the lapband surgery in 2006.  2011 my insurance  has an exclusion for bariatric surgery so I will not be able to have my lap band put back on .. But I would if I could .  I loved it even with complications.  I have since gained 25 lbs back of my 116 1lb loss.  Good luck to you.

No problem.  Hope all works out well.  Of course, we would all panic in this situation.  there is a foreign object in our body and to find it isn;t where it should be is pretty scary.  My surgeon actually stitches around the band to keep it in place.  very little chance of movement.  I really hope you do not have to have it removed.  It is like a miracle tool.  I am not  sure how I would feel if it was me.  Please keep me posted.  Thanks, ME

Hi Lisa,

It IS possible that the band was not placed correctly to begin with.....at least that was my case.  My first surgeon was a total incompetent fraud!!  I personally know TWO people that had surgery with him and he didn't even put the band around their stomach......WTF?!?!  He did place mine around my stomach, but according to my second surgeon, it was never placed properly.

I just replied to your PM, and told you some of this already.  I do encourage you to see if another WLS is an option.....we are in a higher risk for getting another slip now.  Sucks, but it's true.  Good luck to you!!
