Since we all define "success" by our own criteria, we shouldn't assume that success = 100% of EWL or 70% or any other number. We all chose the surgery we feel (after doing the research) will help us reach our individual goals...If I lose 70% of my EW I will be thrilled! There are some folks on the boards who call themselves "fat" when they are 20 lbs away from goal...there are many who are no where near goal and perfectly happy right where they are because their quality of life is much improved.

So, am I the only one on this forum who chose the lap-band based on what I wanted and what I felt was best for myself?  Because listening to posters from other surgery boards, it sounds like I was supposed to make my WLS choice based on what worked for others.  Just wondering.
