I'm the CHICKEN...I chickend out of gastric bypass surgery after CONSULT...I have faith in you You can do it...I did change and make up my mind to lapband  I know more people that has it and likes it I only knowed of 2 with the gastric bypass I know 4 lapbanders

I had lap band last week walked out with butterfly strips over the cuts and band aids lol....get to let the butterfliescome off in another week you will do good and we will see ya on the loser bench soon

I had staples with mine. But taking them out was no big deal. I think each surgeon is a little different

I've had two different lap surgeries in the past four years (only ONE for WL.. the other was for a totally different reason).

With the non WLS I had dissolvable stitches.  For my band, I was glued together.

I have less scaring from the band.  The other scars aren't bad at all, just slightly more noticeable.

You'll do fine.  And our minds pick the strangest things to worry about.. it's normal.  :)

ww..well it appears im one of the lucky ones... i had the banding june 14th 2010, and had 1 incision through the bellybutton, that you cant even see..... you will be sore for a day or two( i took only regular stregnth ibuprophen), and the more you walk..the better.... as of today i am down 100 pounds!!!! good luck, if your serious about this helping you, it will!!

Surgery always seems scary to me, but when I had this done the hardest part was the nurse pounding my hand trying to put in my IV because I had no fluids.   Getting my first fill I was even shocked.  I looked at him and said that's it that is what I was so worried about?  Walk walk walk when they tell you that will help for sure that I didn't do enough.

My surgery was last night and they glued me back together lol.. that sounds funny!
