I would like to hear from those of you who are new to the lap band surgery and those of you who are veterans of the life changing tool. I'm a little nervous on eating the same liquid foods for over 2 weeks.

Hi Shawna, I know how you feel. I was scared because it was a fairly new procedure when I had it done. It was the best decision I made. I got rid of my diabetes an\d high blood pressure. The liquid diet is a drag but it will shrink your liver and make the surgery safer. Good luck tomorrow. Let us know how you are doing.  Mona

I didn't eat the "same liquid food for two weeks". The first few days (depending on your doc) will be just clear liqudis but once you are able to go on to thicker liquids, you can vary them. I didn't use protein shakes; instead I made a range of different soups. Just added extra beans etc for added protein and blended until the correct consistency.

But however you do it, it will soon be over!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
