Silly Question

Hi Everyone -  I'm being banded on Wednesday.  I know this is silly and I know that every surgeon is different, but when will I be able to shower after the surgery?  I've had surgery before, and had to wait 4 days, and I remember feeling completely disgusting by then, LOL.
Thanks!

LOL....good question!  Not silly at all!

I was given no restrictions at all for showering.  I was told not to swim or take a long bath for at least 4 weeks because of the incisions.  But I asked and they said I could take a shower that night if I felt up to it.  I slept most of the day/night after surgery, but I took a shower the next morning and had no problems.

I had steri-strips over my incisions (like tape) and they didn't budge, even after showering.  They stayed on until my post-op appointment 6 days later.  But I was told if they did come off, just to put a band aid over my incisions.

Good luck on Wednesday!!!!

You can't go back and make a brand new start, but you can start from now and make a brand new end.

I had no restrictions and showered later that day. Best of luck to you!

I was able to shower as soon as I felt up to it. And it felt great. Best of luck to you on your surgery and your weight loss journey.

I had no restrictions --- had an outpatient procedure -- went home the same day.
I was allowed to shower the next morning.

I was not allowed to immerse (tub or pool) for about 4 weeks.

Also -- was allowed to walk immediately --- and increase my pace and length as I felt I could
No weight lifting for several weeks.

I convinced my husband and I could not do any laundry or housework - and 'got away' with that for about 6 weeks --- LOL!!!!
