the carb debate...can't make sense out of it all!
When I stop eating carbs, I lose easily and I don't have cravings for things I shouldn't eat. But I think I'm addicted to sugar, which carbs turn into in your body anyway. Like I've seen some say, they don't have an issue with carbs, but I do. So I think you should try a couple different things and see what works for you. Give each way at least a few weeks to really see what your body is going to do.
If I eat simple carbs, I crave more. When I've been off track with my diet for a bit, I usually go completely off carbs (Atkins induction) for a week or two, just to get past the carb cravings. But, a realistic approach to me is to avoid "white" carbs, and stick to whole grains, sweet potato, brown rice, and beans. If you eat your 3-4 oz. of protein, then 1/2 c. of veggie, you probably won't have room for a whole lot of your starchy side anyway!

You are probably still trying to lose? If you are I would watch the carbs. What does your doctor suggest? I have discovered after all of these years i am not a bread eater so I don't eat much bread or rice or pasta, but I eat about 120 gm carbs a day. If I just eat protein my blood sugar drops too low, but that is me. I had a few scary episodes of low blood sugar til I went to a diabetes class. That helped me a lot. Some people do well on low carbs as far as losing weight faster, with me it doesn't matter. It seems to be strictly calories for me. It can drive a person crazy.
