Had an unfill

This morning I had my band unfilled by 0.25 cc, why may you ask??? Because I was too tight. I have not had a fill since November, and NO this was not an over night too tight. I didn't realize that I was too tight until I went back to following the band rules after not following the program requirements for about 6 months (protein first). When I started following the band rules again I noticed that I would wake up choking in the middle of the night, had some heart burn and was constantly having to clear my throat.

Moral of the story is.....if you think that you are too tight.....then you are! I probably had restriction before my last fill in November, but by not eating the right foods it was hard to tell so I went and had another fill. I wont do that again   because now I know that the only way to know if you have restriction is to stay on the program!!!

I hope that if anyone is experiencing the same symptoms go and have an unfill asap, believe me the relief was instant!!

I also DO NOT blame my band, its my responsibility to stay on the program and when I didn't then I only have myself to blame. I still very much  my band!!!

Been there, done that, and paying the price!  The best thing about the band is the ability to adjust the level of restriction.  The worst thing about the band is the tendency to *rely* on restriction.  It's just so much easier to blame "restriction" than to accept that we need to take a good, hard look at behavior.  I'm now totally unfilled to heal from an ulcer, possibly caused by remaining too tight for too long.  Strangely enough, just by following the ol' band rules, I still feel some level of restriction!  I am definitely getting hungrier than I did with full restriction, and I most certainly can eat more, but the band is still working, when I put forth the effort to work with it.

You have a great attitude for your own responsibility with the band, and I have a feeling that you will continue to do well!  Best wishes!

Glad it worked for you. I had been thinking about get a slight fill at the end of the month becuase I was not losing like I wanted. I don't think I'm too tight but being honest I have'nt been eating like the band needs. Reading your post tells me not to get a fill because I don't want to face another unfill (have had one in the past and felt better immediately)so I will go back on the "bandwagon" and do what is needed, not what I want. Thank you.

Way to go, Chica!!  I am proud of you!!  It really is hard to do what's right at times, when that means getting a small unfill.  I am sure you will continue to see the pounds come off now, and without the pain of a band that is too tight!
