Hi Brock! I actually only need to block one person, and I finally have done it.  I can actually deal with some of the people who post their own personal negative experiences, because I can learn from them.  I just can't deal with someone who not only can't see anything good in her own success but actively wishes failure on others.  Blocked!

Yeah, I think I know who you are talking about. I don't understand why with a 100 lb weight loss she is still unhappy.  I lost 125 initially with the band, then gained back 35 because of a band slipped (poor eating habits, too tight over time).  But, I'm still happy I don't weigh 320.  Some people just don't understand how blessed they truly are.

Welcome back, Tami!

Have you been tested for helicobacter pylori (a common cause of ulcers)? That can be treated with medication.

I got my biopsy results via voice mail, and all they told me was that the results were "normal".  I need to call back and make sure they tested for H. pylori.  I was actually hoping it would come back positive for H. pylori because I know it is treatable.  Without that diagnosis, I am left wondering what caused the excess acid and ulcer.

Yes, we know about this ID as well as the others.

Welcome back!

And btw, in all fairness, the negativity came from you. You beat Maria over the head for daring to post about a decent low cal, low carb, WLS friendly meal from Starbucks.

Really, Michelle, is this the best you can do?  I questioned Maria's post not because of the content, but because it was blatant blog pimping.

FWIW, this is my *only* account.  I deactivated TamiFromAL, came back as Mirror_Mirror, which is still this account, but I simply changed the screen name.

Hi Tami, you were certainly one of my first inspirations on the band board.  I was so impressed with your eating habits, your new-found love of exercise (spinning for sure) and your rocking body!!  I can say that after a severe slip and regaining 40 lbs, I am findind that I LOVE exercising, and I am sure that I will get back to where I want to be!!  Glad you are back!!

Thanks, Melly! I have to admit that I don't have the body that I had three years ago.  It takes a LOT of time and work and I just don't put as much into it as I used to, and it's so much harder in the winter!  I'm getting back to it, too, but taking it a little easier than I used to.  At 51, I just want to be fit and healthy, and avoid injuries!  Glad to hear you're back on track, too.

"When life deals you a bad hand, respond with courage." (yes it is from a dog shelter/food commercial but it is an awesome quote.)

I find the best thing you can do is ignore people who will comment negatively because they will always exist, they will always have the last word, and new ones will always fill their places. Just post your stories, your journey, your thoughts, worries, struggles, triumphs, and motivators. I left the boards a while back because of holier than thou bandsters who were eating like anorexics and exercising like them too. These WLS wars were nothing like I see now but to each their own. People researching WLS will visit all surgery pages, just as I did years ago, and when they do they will pick the surgery right for them. Educating yourself is like reading reviews for a product...you just get a feel for it, you read the bad and the good and you find an average.

I came back here because I can skip negative comments when it suits me or I can read it if I feel like getting worked up (which I sometimes do, lol).

Keep your chin up and keep fighting the good fight!

Good Luck!

Hmmmm....I *might* have been one of those exercise-aholics, but certainly never ate "like an anorexic".  Food is a blessing that I don't intend ever to give up!  Thanks, and good luck to you, too!
