So I'm just over 7 weeks out, and have been taken off of one of my blood pressure meds   My doc says that if I keep up the awesome work, I'll be completely off my other bp med by April.

Oh yes!  This is one of the many, many reasons that I love my band!!

That's fantastic...I wish that would happan to me...I'm 9 weeks tommow and my pressure goes up and down..my weight has been the same the whole month of February..I haven't been as accurate with my evening meal. I seem to be in a pattern that needs to change also, I never know what to eat for dinner...Could you maybe send me a PM on what u have at dinner. and do u excercise and drink all your water..I fail in that area...The best to you...

Hi Spuddzy,

Getting into an eating routine was tough for me too.  Meal planning is hard, but once you get into a groove, it's a piece of cake (figuratively of course ).  Something that has really helped me is Myfitnesspal.com.  It's where I log all of my food on a daily basis and it really puts calories/carbs/protein/sodium/fat and all that good stuff into perspective for me.  Some days I have to make myself eat, even when I don't feel like it.  It's easy to get into a pattern of not eating and thinking of it as a positive thing (especially if you were like me and ate huge portions all the time before surgery).  But the reality is that we need fuel (food) to be healthy and to have enough energy to even burn calories to lose weight.  I will PM you the link to my my page of My Fitness Pal so that you can take a look at my food diary.  Last week doesn't really have any entries because I was as sick as a dog with that nasty little bug that was going around.

I do exercise.  I think I started walking on my 3rd week post-op.  It was nothing intense, just making a conscious effort to walk 3 times a week for 30 minutes.  I continued to do that, then started adding in a 30 minute walk for my lunch break.  Then about 2 weeks ago, I started the c25k training program, but had to take last week off because of that stupid cold.  This week I'm back in action and feeling great.

Water has been somewhat of a challenge.  I had been struggling to get all of my water in, until I figured out that it helps you lose weight.    At the end of each day, when I complete my food diary, based on my entries, it tells me "If everyday were like today, you'd weigh XYZ pounds in 5 weeks".  Well on this particular day, I forgot to add in my water.  When I went back and added it in, the 5 week prediction changed by like 6 or 7 pounds.  Needless to say, I've been drinking like a fish ever since.

I hope this helps and I will definitely PM you the link.  Stay encouraged and celebrate even the smallest victories!!
