In a year's time you will be so glad your friend took these pics. You will want to look at them and realise just how far you have come.

I only had a fraction of what you had to lose but even for me, the change in life is miraculous. Yours is going to be truly beyond belief!

Congratulations on taking control of your life.

Kate

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Thanks to you all for being so kind. I am glad I have some before pics. I just don't like looking at them right now. I just don't know how I let myself get this bad. Maybe if I had let people take my picture sooner I might have seen how out of contol I was getting.

I'm so proud of you for finding that courage to put your picture out there. It can be very empowering. If you embrace where you were and recognize that you never want to go back, you will be well on your way to moving forward. Thats just my opinion.

And I'd say 114 lbs is WELL on your way to moving forward. WTG!!!!

I think it's great you've shared your before pics. It's scary, but you are amoung frients. Believe me, I think we all understand.

As we lose weight -- it is such a weird feeling to see those old photos. It's so easy for us to find fault with the before surgery us -- please don't do that. Remember, you loved the presurgery you enough to do something about your health and that is worth celebrating! You are worth celebrating!

Thanks for your kind words. Every one of you. These days the bigger you are the more people stare and talk. And when you get this big you are like a sideshow freak. Just going shopping can be horrifying. It's amazing how cruel grown people can be.

I used to weigh 155. I used to wear nice clothes. I used to exercise. I used to be able to go out in public and not be stared at or whispered about everywhere I went. And, even at 155, I thought I was fat. If only I would have seen myself then the way I see myself when I look back at those pictures.

We live in a small town where everyone knows everyone and people are used to seeing me. But when I travel to a bigger town not even 20 minutes away people point, stare, whisper, laugh and even talk out loud. Sometimes it's more than I an take. I want to scream to them "I'm fat but I'm not deaf". I hate confrontation a person can only take so much.

My teenage son has many friends. They are always respectful and polite. None of them judge me. They speak to me respectfully when they see me at the school, the mall, ball games, anywhere in public. They don't judge me. It's great to see teenagers like that.
