If you ahave a medical condition which in itself or because of medication may have an impact on weight loss or weight loss surgery, then you need to talk this through with your surgeon.

My best wishes.  Kate

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I am so very sorry this has happened to you, but I would have to second what Kate has said. When we make the decision on the type of wls we want we need to take our health needs into consideration. For example, I could not have a procedure that has a malabsorptive component because of my pre existing osteoporosis. You should talk to the pulmonologist to see when you could be cleared to have surgery (it may be a while) then talk to your surgeon. They will work together to see that you have the right thing at the right time.

If you have to wait a bit it would be wise to try eating as if you already had surgery so you can drop some pounds in the meantime. I had to wait 3 months and lost 20 lbs. in that time. The other thing is that steroids can cause you to be more hungry and retain lots of fluids so weight can rise. Work with your nut to deal with it. This is not the end of the world, but I understand your disappointment and frustration. I wish you the best, and keep coming to OH for support. God bless, Sue

Is that diagnosis confirmed without the biopsy being back yet? Does your doc suspect this or has it been confirmed?

The band got me to goal, the sleeve will keep me there.

For me the sleeve is a breeze, I really like it. I'm finding it a much better lifestyle than when I was banded.

Just hang in there for biopsy results, you just never know.  Things may be better than you realized!
