Today I got a letter in the mail saying, I have to attend a group information meeting and If I decide to continue then I would have to be in a 'rigorus program to decide wether or not you meet the standards for ohip to cover your surgery'

I've heard stories of people waiting years to be accepted by ohip to cover a gastric bypass surgery and I was wondering if getting this letter is just a standard thing for anyone on the list or if it means that I'm actually in arms reach of getting my surgery covered and I should continue waiting rather then paying for the surgery myself.

I would say to call your Dr. office and just ask them if they know what it means. There should be a person in their office to answer questions like that.
