Bellybutton after surgery?

Is going thru the belly button common practice now?  I have seen a few surgeons sites that have said they go thru the belly button but I am not sure if they all started doing that or if they only do it under certain cir****tances or something.  I will have to look it up Lol!

I had my band a little over 2 weeks ago. My port incision is about 3 inches up and 2 inches over from there and theres another incision just about 3 inches above. Mine looks normal for now, I think :)

Scar tissue can be annoying--ask your surgeon but mine said once the incisions heal rubbing the incisions can get the scar tissue on the inside to kind of fall off and smooth over. I did this with my ankles too when I had surgery on them...sounds weird but helps smooth it out for long-term.
