still waiting on insurance response
As i posted earlier this week, my band has slipped. according to the doctor, a complete unfill WILL NOT WORK to correct the slip in my situation due to the current location of my band. I have verified this with the doctor 3 times this week since leaving their office on Tuesday. On tuesday, the doctor had his staff submit a "Stat Predetermination" to see what my options are with my insurance. as of yesterday, insurance has not responded. if my band needs to come out, and they have submitted a "stat" request, it looks like the insurance would have a short window of time to respond. anyway, has anyone else recently been through this? the waiting is killing me.
it's bad enough that my band has slipped and has to come out, but now to have to wait this long to determine my options is only pouring gas on the flame.
thanks in advance for your responses.......

Dee,
No, that hasn't happened to me. A band slip isn't really a medical emergency unless you're in terrible pain or unable to drink clear liquids. Why don't you call your insurance company's customer service line and ask them how long it should take to process a "stat" request?
