My diet consisted of SF Carnation IB, sf jello, clear sf liquids and for the occasional treat bouillion. But, as others have said, every surgeon is different. Call your doctor and see what he reccommends. I was told the reason for my diet was to shrink my liver for a safer surgery. I lost abt 12 lbs.

I was told the very same thing "to reduce my liver " for a safer surgery.

As you can see, we can't help you! We vary so much in what our docs tell us. I had no pre-op diet at all.

You need to check with your own medical team.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I was on 21 days pre-op. protein drinks, broth, sf popsicles, sf jello, fat free milk. It was tough, but I did it. No pudding or cream soup. Every pre-op is different.
Best Wishes to you!

I, too, had no pre-op diet, I actually did the "last supper" thing and ate everything I could not after surgery, fav restaurant, desert, etc. I only had to stop all foods the night before like most surgeries. I know some Dr's like to have their patients do a pre-op to shrink your liver which makes it easier to get to your stomach to put the band in. It will probably be hard, but worth it in the end. Good luck!!
Mari  Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!
