I had surgery yesterday. I have GAS! I am waiting for the nurse to call back to see if I can take this GAS-X.  I feel miserable.

Walk, walk and then walk some more. Try to walk a little bit every hour and it will help with the gas pains. The Gas X strips only helped with the gas that I got after drinking.

It will pass. I promise.

The GasX won't help with the surgery gas.  It will help with the intestinal gas.  Your best bet is to walk around.  It's been snowy and miserable here so right after my surgery when I got home, I would set the timer for 20 minutes and relax, then walk laps around my house for 10 minutes. I did that for two days and I felt much better!  By the second day, during my 10 minutes, I was picking things up off the floor, and straightening my house/doing dishes etc during the 10 minutes.  It really helped a lot!!

I can so relate since I'm abiut 1 1/2 weeks post-op. I got some good advice from a nurse that I took and it must have helped me. I had 3 days where my life was ruled by gas, then it started going away. Not the gas, totally, but the gas pain. Don't know if this advice will help you, but maybe it will someone else. She said when they put you to sleep, your gut goes to sleep. If you take your perscription pain meds, your gut wants to stay asleep. Since the gas was soooo the main issue, it was ibuprophen all the way for me.
