The 5-day Pouch Test was developed by a writer and gastric bypass patient, Kaye Bailey, whose website is 5daypouchtest.com. She charges a fee for access to the details of the program, but it's basically a 5-day protein-only eating plan that's supposed to "re-set" or shrink your stomach pouch to its original post-op size. I suppose that might work for a gastric bypass patient, but a bandster's stomach pouch isn't going to stretch unless he/she has been consistently overeating, which is a problem all on its own that's not going to be solved with a magic 5-day diet. And a bandster who can eat more because their restriction is waning presumably can get a fill to get back on track.

That said, I've heard many bandsters say that the 5 day pouch test helped them get back on track because it imposed a strict discipline on their eating, and because the protein-only eating plan helped reduce their carb cravings.
