incidental finding on abdominal ultrasound
Hi
My band is due to go in on April 11th. I am excited about this date.
However in the workup for the band I had an abdominal ultrasound, and they found some lesions in the liver. They are either hepatic adenomas or focal nodular hyperplasia. So basically benign tumours.
I am nervous that they will need to be removed and my band date will be set back. I can't get in to see my doctor until Saturday - 5 days away.
Has anyone else had these findings and what did they do about it?
Cat.

Cat,
I had some kind of lesion on my liver - sorry, can't remember the name of it - and my bariatric surgeon removed it (and had it biopsied) at the same time as he placed my band. The lesion was benign.

Hi,
I also had a lesion of some sort on my liver (name escapes me, too). But I saw my Gastroenterologist and he said it was nothing -- that these things are usually benign. When I had my band placed, my surgeon biopsied the area and it was benign.
I refer to the time leading up to my lap band surgery and all of the tests I had to get -- the period where I learned more stuff about myself that ended up being absolutely nothing. Once it's all over, you'll find yourself able to talk about just about any medical issue. LOL
Best of luck to you!
