How many diets have you been on??
This is just what I can remember, I know there were more, LOL.
Very first step into the world of dieting was at age 16 - went to Jenny Craig…may have lost 10 pounds (I really didn't like the food, too picky). Gym membership/personal trainer Atkins (several times) - most I ever lost was 40 pounds and then I would get sick and go off of it and gain it all right back. Weigh****chers (twice) - never lost much there, maybe 20 pounds Phen Fen….I also never had problems with it - my problem was they stopped making it….lost over 100 pounds on it and kept it off for a couple years….then got divorced/remarried, blah, blah, blah South Beach Richard Simmons Tae Bo obsession (lost about 40 pounds just doing mass amounts of this, but then got bored and stopped and gained it all back). Meridia Carb blockers Cabbage soup diet Hollywood diet (total joke) Mayo Clinic diet Loma Linda diet (that's the one where one day you eat just fruits, the next just vegetables, then fruits and vegetables, and I think one day was just bananas and milk…total BS).

This post makes me so sad! What more proof do we need that diets don't work? And people assume that those of us who struggle with our weight are lazy and undisciplined and just don't know how to eat healthy...it's very sad.

It might be easier to report on what diets I haven't tried. It would be hard to find one that I didn't give my best.
This thread made me think of the few weeks after surgery. I would walk into a grocery store and I felt a little lost. It amazed me how much time and energy I spent looking for the latest and greatest "diet food or drug". After the band, I had to learn to eat and shop like a normal person. It sounds crazy, but I'm sure most "professional dieters" would understand.
